As part of the Alberta tour "From Here, But From Elsewhere"
First screening of the film "From far away " ( Shira Avni & Serene El-haj Daoud ). An inspiring film about inclusion, diversity and immigration in Canada, made available by the NFB .
Target audience: elementary school to 12 years old
Total duration offered : 40 minutes (introduction, broadcast and discussion); but the program is flexible and adaptable to your needs.
Educational objectives:
- To raise students' awareness of the realities of immigration and reception in Canada.
- To encourage young people to reflect on difference, tolerance and inclusion at school.
- Encourage personal expression through discussion and symbolic creation.
- To promote cohesion and a sense of belonging within the class.
An educational and human activity to open up dialogue on cultural diversity and the importance of welcoming others.
