SUZANNE LAMY-THIBAUDEAU
An exceptional woman, devoted to Alberta’s Francophonie and to advancing the rights and well-being of women. This recognition honours Suzanne Lamy-Thibaudeau, whose long-standing commitment to the community continues to have a meaningful and lasting impact.
Since her arrival in Fort McMurray in 1978, Suzanne has been deeply involved in Alberta’s francophone community. She served as Community Development Officer for five years with the ACFA regional chapter, contributing significantly to the vitality of the region.
A true team player and dedicated volunteer, Suzanne approaches her work with respect, empathy, and unwavering energy. Her long-term involvement supporting women has made her a pillar of the community and a cherished mentor to many francophone women.
Even before the official incorporation of the Alberta Women’s Coalition in 2002, Suzanne played a key role in drafting foundational documents—including the bylaws, mission, and vision. As the organization’s first employee, she promoted the advancement of francophone women by overseeing major files and projects with professionalism and dedication. For nearly ten years, she served as the organization’s anchor—supporting members, guiding presidents, and working closely with board members.
For several years now, Suzanne has continued her remarkable community service as an active member of the Board of Directors of the ACFA régionale d’Edmonton.
