The Pont Cultural Bridge (PCB) will set up a childcare service in the event of a teachers' strike.
Edmonton, September 19, 2025 – Following the Alberta Teachers' Association's (ATA) announcement of a planned strike on October 6, 2025 if no agreement is reached with the government, the Pont Cultural Bridge (PCB) wishes to reassure parents and guardians in the community.
In a spirit of solidarity and support for families, the PCB will offer a temporary childcare service for children affected by a possible suspension of classes.
This service aims to:
Ensure the safety and well-being of children during regular school hours;
Provide a structured and enriching environment, with educational, cultural and fun activities;
Respond to the urgent needs of parents who may face work-life balance difficulties due to the strike.
The PCB reaffirms its commitment to being an ally to Francophone and Francophile families in Edmonton and Alberta, particularly in times of uncertainty.
