Organized by the Pont Cultural Bridge , AFRIKANITÉ: Afro Calgary is a Francophone and multicultural cultural festival that will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 in Calgary , as part of Black History Month .
This flagship event aims to celebrate Afro-descendant cultures while strengthening intercultural dialogue, social cohesion, and civic engagement within the Calgary and Franco-Albertan communities. The festival brings together artists, community organizations, institutional leaders, families, and youth for cultural, educational, and festive activities: artistic performances, exhibitions, food, panels, official speeches, and networking opportunities.
AFRIKANITÉ also serves as a strategic platform for visibility and impact for partners and funders committed to multiculturalism, inclusion, the French language, and the fight against racism. By supporting this event, partners make a concrete contribution to:
the promotion of Afro-descendant and Francophone communities;
recognition of cultural and civic contributions in Calgary and Alberta;
strengthening community cohesion and intercultural understanding;
access to inclusive and representative cultural spaces.
The festival benefits from a strong community and institutional reach, with multi-channel visibility (website, social media, printed materials, official stage) and the presence of municipal and provincial representatives.
AFRIKANITY: Afro Calgary 2026 is more than an event: it is a collective commitment to an inclusive society, proud of its diversity and looking towards the future.
